What research methodology does Topnotch Foundation follow?
Topnotch Foundation follows a five-step process for every study: programme planning, survey development, data analysis, reporting, and consultation and review with the client.
What is the difference between qualitative and quantitative research?
Qualitative research explores why people think or behave as they do, through methods such as focus group discussions, in-depth interviews and ethnography. Quantitative research measures how many people think or behave a certain way, through structured surveys such as face-to-face, CATI and CAWI interviews.
What are CATI and CAWI?
CATI is computer-assisted telephone interviewing, where interviewers follow a questionnaire on screen during a phone call. CAWI is computer-assisted web interviewing, where respondents complete an online questionnaire themselves.
What is desk research?
Desk research, or secondary research, uses data that already exists — published reports, web sources and industry resources — to frame a market before or alongside primary fieldwork.
How does Topnotch Foundation ensure data quality?
All qualitative research is reviewed by management, 30% of every quantitative sample is validated, new interviewers receive formal training, questionnaires are piloted in the field, and randomly selected data is validated by a field manager in New Delhi.
How are Topnotch Foundation award nominees evaluated?
Nominees go through the same research-led approach: the nomination is submitted, the research team studies the nominee against category benchmarks, eligible profiles are shortlisted, and final awardees are confirmed and honoured at a national ceremony. Recognition is earned, never sold.
